Sean (Xiaozheng) He joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as an assistant professor in 2017. He received Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He also holds a B.S. and an M.S. degree in Computational Mathematics. Dr. He's expertise is in modeling and simulating transportation systems with an emphasis on the impacts of emerging technologies and network disruptions. He works on problems related to interdependent infrastructure resilience, connected autonomous vehicles, and electric vehicles. Dr. He is a committee member on the Network Modeling Standing Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB). He serves as an editorial board member for Transportation Research Part B, an associate editor for Frontiers in Future Transportation, and a guest editor for several transportation journals. He is also a technical committee member for several international conferences. His collaborated research paper won the best paper award at the 18th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems. Dr. He won the prestigious NSF CAREER Award in 2021.
